These are so simple, there's no excuse not to make them! They're also delicious. As an 8 year-old friend summarized, "Churros are made in heaven! These are even better than the ones I get at Costco!"
Oven-Baked Churros
Adapted from Southern Living, May 2011
1 package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
1/4 sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup melted butter
- Preheat your oven to 450. Unfold and cut strips puff pastry sheets crosswise into 1 inch strips.
- Place strips on a lightly greased parchment paper-line baking sheet. Brush with melted butter then bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
- Combine sugar and cinnamon. Remove pastry strips from the oven and brush with butter again. Roll buttered strips in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Let stand on a wire rack until dry.

These are genius! How easy, puff pastry?! Never would have thought of it - Thanks!
Hold the PHONE! the 8 year old said these were better than Costco's? That says A LOT!
I know, Erin! Super easy!! :)
Yes, Gwenevere. I'm going to be honest and tell you I'm feeling pretty darn confident after a compliment like that. Costco has nothing on these! Sadly, it was something I threw together in 10 minutes... :( I wish rave review like that came for things I poured hours into!! :) I'll take what I can get...
Easy to do and great snack to eat!
Great idea! Definitely worth a trip to the store. :) Happy cinco de mayo!

you have a very beautiful/yummy blog here, i just wanted to share that cinco de mayo is actually celebrating a mexican victory over the french, not mexican independence day (september 16).

@Sarah (Snippets of Thyme): Perfect for an office party! I baked them the night before and brought them with me to work the next day and they were still crunchy and delicious!!
These look sooo good and I love Nutella. Great quicky idea with the puff pastry. Try them with Pillsbury crescent dough.
