Yeah, so what if I like to mix my salty and sweet? That's not exactly an original move. Really, the salt isn't required for everyone. But, oh boy, is it nice for me.
Did you know that finding a chocolate bar that is both vegan and gluten-free is not easy? I have two favorites (found here and here) that I pick up pretty often, but when I'm feeling a little less-than-perky and prefer not to hop in my car (or on my scooter!) to make the very necessary chocolate purchase, this homemade chocolate works serious wonders.
As if a bonus were even necessary, this chocolate is pretty darn healthy! Sugar-free, dairy-free, yet oh-so-tasty.
Fleur de Sel Vegan Chocolate Squares
vegan, gluten-free
6 tablespoons of coconut oil
6 tablespoons agave*
1 tsp of vanilla extract
12 tablespoons cocoa powder
a pinch...or three of salt
sprinkle of fleur de sel, to garnish
- (Warning: This recipe is very non-technical.) Add ingredients into a bowl.
- Mix.
- Pour into lined pan/container.
- Place in freezer to harden.
- Serve.
Next time I plan on adding some cranberries and almonds so knock yourself out with fun additions, too!
Honestly, could your chocolate dilemma be any easier to solve?
